World EV Day is set for Tuesday, September 9, with the goal of promoting and facilitating the transition to electric vehicles. This year marks the 6th anniversary of World EV Day, showcasing a growing movement toward sustainable transportation and ongoing advancements that lead us on an electrifying journey.
Global reports show encouraging growth, emphasizing a promising future for electric vehicles (EV). In the UK, there has been a staggering 303% rise in EV adoption since 2021, as stated by Zapmap. The International Energy Agency (IEA) reports that 17.3 million electric cars were manufactured globally in 2024, representing an increase of approximately 25% over 2023.
Support and initiatives from various regions and governments are steering electric vehicle manufacturers in a positive direction. Countries like China are enforcing regulations that limit internal combustion engine (ICE) 2/3 wheelers in several cities, leading to a significant rise in the adoption of electric 2/3 wheelers in the nation. Moving forward, the European policy landscape will continue to encourage electric vehicles while providing some short-term flexibility. Other major markets and regions are actively engaging in the shift toward a sustainable future.
These significant strides reflect the dedication of every nation to embrace the green movement, as NWOW continues to stay focused and committed to its role in this important initiative, driving toward a more sustainable future. Wishing everyone a joyful World EV Day!
